WILSONVILLAINS HC

2021
Write up to come
2020
Wilsonvillains HC were one of only four NHFL clubs that saw their valuation increase over the past year. And had their draft party not been dampened, if not thwarted, by the pandemic then there would have been opportunity for even greater valuation gains.
The revenue-backed bonds for the state-of-the-art THC Gardens have not been negatively impacted by the pandemic. Fitch Ratings affirmed the 'BBB+' rating of Wilsonvillain's Arena Funding's (THC Gardens) $34.1 million of arena revenue-backed notes and said the rating outlook was stable in November. The BBB+ rating reflects Gardens' position as the premier arena in the large and diversified Wilsonville region, with major sports franchises, Burning Green and the Wilsonvillains HC. Fitch also highlighted THC Gardens' solid financial metrics, low leverage, minimal capital needs and diversified revenues with low volatility due to strong contractual agreements with escalators.
Still looking for their first playoff berth as an NHFL franchise, the Wilsonvillains HC fell just short of that goal in the 2019-2020 season, but are positioned well in the upcoming shortened season to finally get over that hump.
2019
On the ice, Wilsonvillains HC has improved on their inaugural 2018-19 season when they finished in 9th place and outside of the playoff picture. Now they're clinging to the final playoff position with a .500 record, making great strides over their 2017-18 showing.
Off the ice, the Wilsonvillains HC attendance has been extremely consistent in 2019, wavering between no lower than 97.6% and no higher than 100.2% over the calendar year. Wilsonvillains HC is still among the league leaders in season ticket holders (over 14,000), average single-game ticket price ($168) and season ticket waiting list (more than 6,250). As Wilsonvillains HC nears the tail end of the expansion honeymoon phase, the franchise saw some of the biggest by-percentage financial gains in the NHFL over 2018: a 16.08% increase in total franchise value (4th in the NHFL), a 12.34% rise in total revenue (5th), and a 21.12% jump in operating income (2nd).
Having already hosted their own expansion draft, the gears are in motion to have league GMs make their way to Wilsonville for the 2020 NHFL Draft. An excellent opportunity to raise their team profile within the NHFL, with advertisers and corporate sponsors, and internationally with fans - Wilsonvillains HC management is working diligently to manufacture and nurture their franchises foothold as a vital piece of growth for the league.
2018
The Wilsonvillains have burst into the spotlight, managed to hit the ground running and find themselves with a higher franchise valuation than two other NHFL teams (including one established franchise) after only coming into existence in the 3rd quarter of 2018. The road to the NHFL has been paved with gold for the expansion team, rivaling a handful of established clubs in revenue and income. The Wilsonvillains are among the league leaders in season ticket holders (over 14,000), average single-game ticket price ($160) and season ticket waiting list (more than 6,000).
The team is in the midst of the honeymoon phase, as attendance has held steady around the sell-out mark despite the teams' struggle to play up to the on-ice expectations that management had for this roster coming into the season. Still, a solid debut valuation for a franchise that has toyed with the idea of an annual summer league event at the ownership-operated Lake Azzo. This kind of event will surely create excitement among the fan base, and drive the valuation towards the $1 billion threshold.
At a $610 million price tag, the Wilsonvillains are already worth 22% more than the expansion fee that ownership paid for the franchise
